aside from some lame general art class in high school, I have no formal training. I started drawing when I was really young, when I discovered dinosaurs and dragons. when pokemon came out (when I was 9-10) I began to draw everyday. there are many reasons I didn’t go to art school, but the cost was the main deterrent.
