decided garrus needed a redesign. how’s he supposed to be a combat specialist or a sniper while wearing full clunky armor? it’s unrealistic!

the drawing from the pseudo-tutorial earlier. tuxxy is a classy goblin who makes clothes for pets.
no matter how many fancy custom brushes I try, I always go back to the basic hard round brush, and the transfer brush.
I use photoshop cs5, and this quick little runthrough assumes you know what layers and blending modes do. if not, there are plenty of tutorials out there about that. this is just how I use the brushes.
the transfer brush is great for blending when used with the eyedropper. turning off shape dynamics ensures that the more pressure you use, the more opaque the color is. you can drop in color transparently, eyedrop the result, and repeat.

moss the monk nelf and lionbreath the warrior gnome. he lost his arm to a dragon, so she made him a new one.
I reused their names for dragondove characters, ignoring that I might want to draw the originals again. oh…

in a fit of nostalgia, i made some color palettes from swatches from spyro the dragon. best color theory in any game, i think. I’ll probably do the rest of spyro 1 and 2 when I’m in the mood.
these are the artisan worlds.
